Former Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.

Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

One senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

Breakdown of Charges

Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:

15 counts of assault.
17 counts of penetrative assault.
9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police are urging anyone with concerns to contact the investigating team.
